The Aikido Academy of North Carolina (Joshinkan Dojo) has been operating under the guidance of Sensei Bill Bunn since 1993. The school is a member of the Aikido Association of America, and is affiliated with both the Aikikai Foundation and World Aikido Headquarters, Tokyo Japan.
Instruction is focused towards both the basic principles of Aikido and their applications in technique. Above all, it is taught at your level of ability.
Visitors are always welcomed to observe a class, Bunn Sensei teaches on Tuesday and Thursday nights, while Whatley Sensei teaches on Wednesday nights.
Introductory Classes:
Each prospective Aikido student must complete three introductory classes to ensure that each member has a basic understanding of etiquette, safety and exercises. The cost is $25 per individual, $45 per couple, $70 per family (max. of four) if desired prior to membership. If membership is desired first, the introductory classes will be included at no additional cost.
A one-time Registration Fee of $25 per member is required upon joining the dojo. Membership dues in the Aikido Association of America are included in the fee for each rank test.
